Saudi Chemical Co. has signed a deal to establish a first-of-its-kind production facility for ammonium nitrate and nitric acid in Ras Al Khair.

The partnership with Dyno Nobel, through its subsidiary Saudi Chemical Co., aims to support vital sectors and strategic projects aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, as stated in the company’s Tadawul statement.

This involves localizing the production of raw materials necessary for manufacturing civil and military explosives to develop solutions for the defense and mining industries in Saudi Arabia.

The company clarified that the memorandum of understanding has a duration of six months, during which a thorough review of the project’s preliminary studies and financial model will take place.

Additionally, one of the specialized engineering firms will generate initial designs, culminating in a conclusive evaluation of the undertaking’s feasibility.

Thamer Al-Muhid, group CEO and managing director of Saudi Chemical Co., said: “We are proud to be partnering with Dyno Nobel and bringing together expertise and resources to promote the realization of our country’s ambitious Vision 2030 programs.”

He added: “We are confident that this collaboration will enhance innovation, create value, develop, and localize the Kingdom’s industrial landscape.”

The company also stated that the financial impact of this agreement will be determined later.

On the same day, the Saudi Chemical Co. signed an MoU with the mining company Moxico Resources and Ajlan & Bros to supply blasting material and services to the Al-Khunayqiyah mine owned by the firm.

Throughout the one-year MoU period, the aim is to strengthen the mining sector in Saudi Arabia by leveraging the comprehensive and superior services and products provided by the company.

“As a promising step in our commitment to advance the mining industry in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Chemical Co. Ltd is proud to be a part of the growth of this vital sector through this collaboration with Moxico Ajlan & Bros Mining Co. to contributing to the success of the mining operations and exploration, as well as enhancing and diversifying the national economy,” Al-Muhid said.

In December of last year, SCCH’s AJA Pharmaceuticals Industries signed a binding agreement with DR. Reddy’s Laboratories.

AJA Pharma will get licensing rights for three of Dr. Reddy’s developed injection products for registration and commercialization in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
