AlUla Falcon Cup revives Gulf sales

The AlUla Falcon Cup, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club in partnership with the Royal Commission for AlUla, has contributed to the revitalization of the falconry market in the Kingdom and the Gulf countries.

The cup, held in AlUla’s Al-Mughira Village for Heritage Sports and with top prizes amounting up to SR60 million ($15.997 million), has boosted buying and selling activities since its announcement during the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival.Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif was in attendance for the conclusion of the AlUla Falcons Cup on Friday.

Prince Abdulaziz, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Falcons Club, crowned the winners of the Al-Malwah race and falconry competitions.

The AlUla Falcons Cup lasted for nine days, during which both local and international falconers competed for the top prizes.

Speaking about the investment aspect in the sector, falconer Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Haddar, who won the AlUla Falcon Cup in the first track for the Gear Teba Farkh for local owners category, noted the momentum the announcement of the cup had created with its world-beating prize pots, emphasizing the cup’s regional and international impact.

He stated that the competition has opened new horizons to support local falconers from a technical and financial standpoint, in addition to enhancing investment in the falconry field given the substantial financial rewards on offer, all of which represent a great incentive for professionals and owners to buy the best falcons for high prices.
