Al-Madinah Heritage Co. has signed an agreement with Catrion Catering Holding Co. to provide the former’s Nua brand of luxury Saudi date products on commercial and VIP flights, and in first-class and business-class lounges at several airports.

Catrion is considered one of the largest Saudi companies in terms of date consumption, using about 450 tons of raw dates each year in more than 250 food items. Al-Madinah produces luxury dates and markets them locally and internationally. Total date production in the Kingdom stands at 1.6 million tons across all of its regions.

The agreement was signed by Catrion CEO Wajdi Al-Ghabban and his counterpart at Al-Madinah, Bandar Al-Qahtani.

The businesses said the deal will benefit the local date industry and help develop production, and is in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 development and diversification plan to increase non-oil revenues and promote the national identity of the Kingdom, by offering luxury date products to travelers.

Al-Madinah is a Public Investment Fund company that focuses on the dates business. Catrion specializes in travel catering and hospitality.
