The first Saudi-India Festival will be held in Jeddah on Jan. 19 featuring various traditional arts and cultural activities, and showcasing the 5,000-year history between the Asian nation and Arabia.

The event has been organized by India’s consulate in collaboration with the Goodwill Global Initiative.

The theme of the event is “5K Camaraderie,” and will see over 2,000 people attend at the International Indian School in Jeddah’s Al-Rehab district.

India’s Consul General Mohd Shahid Alam launched the festival’s brochure during a ceremony held at the consulate recently.

Emphasizing the festival’s significance in strengthening cultural and strategic ties between the two countries, Alam called for the support of the Indian community.

A documentary will be screened showcasing the 5,000-year ties between people from the two continents.

This narrative will traverse the ancient Spice Route, Silk Road, and Incense Route, and the recent partnership in the world’s second-largest migration corridor encompassing India and the GCC states.

Additionally, the festival will feature exhibitions showcasing Indian products and companies.
