Drug smugglers, dealers arrested

A man has been arrested in Uhud Al-Masariha Governorate, Jazan, for attempting to smuggle medically controlled drugs.

The arrest was made by the Saudi General Directorate of Narcotics Control and following preliminary legal proceedings the case was passed to the public prosecution.

The security authorities have urged all citizens and residents with information about illegal drug-related activity to come forward. Citizens can call 911 in the Eastern Province, Makkah and Riyadh regions, or 999 in other regions. The directorate can be contacted by phone on 995 or via email.

Meanwhile, Saudi Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Rabwa area of Asir region thwarted an attempt to smuggle 77 kg of qat.

Preliminary legal proceedings have been completed and the case has been passed to the relevant authorities.

In a separate incident, a man was arrested in Madinah for selling cannabis. His case has been referred to the public prosecution.
