The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs participated in the 36th International Conference for Muslims of Latin America and the Caribbean in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from Nov.17-19.

The conference, organized by the Islamic Dawah Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, was held under the theme, “The Muslim Family: Between Islamic Values and Contemporary Challenges.”

The event is billed as a platform to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Muslim families in the region.

The ministry’s participation, the Saudi Press Agency said, “underscores its commitment to engaging with global Muslim communities and addressing the multifaceted aspects of family life within diverse cultural and social landscapes.”

The head of the Islamic Dawah Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Saifi, spoke about the importance of family in Islam, strategies for building a family, and respect for mutual rights.

The undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Awaad bin Sabti Al-Anzi, delivered a speech in which he stressed the value of family, the SPA reported. He also highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in support of the Palestinian cause, noting that the country had organized summits that resulted in unifying Arab and Islamic opinion regarding brutal and inhumane crimes, and demanding an end to the war, the protection of innocent civilians, and the entry of urgently needed humanitarian aid to Gaza.
