South Sudan supports Saudi Arabia’s bid to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir affirmed his country’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s request to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

His comments came during a meeting with Saudi Royal Court Adviser Ahmed Qattan in the capital, Juba, where he delivered a message from King Salman regarding relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation.

During the meeting, Qattan conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the president and the government and people of South Sudan, while Kiir conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Kingdom.

They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them in various fields, in addition to reviewing all regional and international events of common interest.

Kiir said he welcomed Saudi Arabia’s initiative to hold the first Saudi-African summit and the fifth Arab-African summit later this year.

Qattan expressed his country’s thanks and appreciation for South Sudan’s support of the Kingdom’s request to host the World Expo, which emanates from the distinguished relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Qattan also held bilateral talks with South Sudan’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Deng Dau Deng during his visit to Juba.
