During the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2023, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City highlighted the ways in which the city’s bid to host Expo 2030 will contribute to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, in keeping with the aims of Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

It came as the Kingdom, and 38 other participating nations, delivered presentation on what they are doing to implement the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs.

The activities and outcomes of the forum are expected to be reviewed by the Bureau International des Expositions, which oversees and regulates international expos and will choose the winning bid for Expo 2030.

This year’s forum was hosted at the UN’s headquarters in New York by the organization’s Economic and Social Council. It ran from July 10 to 19 under the theme “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels.”
