French prosecutors have opened an investigation against singer Isaiah Hegelan on charges of “public incitement to commit a crime and a misdemeanor” after she spoke at a party about crowds attacking President Emmanuel Macron, the prosecution revealed to AFP on Saturday.
In the details, the artist imagined on stage, during her concert Thursday evening in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, as part of a festival in southern France, a scene in which spectators attack and kill Macron, according to AFP.
“with sticks with nails”
“I know him,” she said. “I think this is what the people want, to fix me 20 meters off the ground, and to bring everyone with huge sticks with nails on top.”
And the singer’s daughter, Jacques Haeglan, added, according to a video posted on the website and the TikTok account of the cultural magazine “In-haut Cote d’Azur”: “There we take him down, but with all the spontaneity and kindness of the people of the south, when he becomes completely above us we will all have sticks to celebrate, And we knock him down, but gently.”
While she added sarcastically: “I see from now on the headline (newspaper) “Nice-Matin” tomorrow: Isaiah calls for the killing of Macron,” according to the local newspaper, which reported on the party in its Saturday morning issue, and talked about a failed attempt by the gendarmerie to interrogate her at the end of the show.
