Saudi Culture Ministry extends scholarship deadline until August 2023

The Saudi Ministry of Culture announced today the extension of the application period for Saudi Art History scholarships until Aug. 9, 2023.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the scholarship supports the development of Saudi arts and the factors influencing them: the critical, philosophical and cultural visions that shape creativity in the Kingdom.

The scholarship was launched in May 2022 and has covered several research fields in the history of arts in the Kingdom, including visual arts of all kinds, the performing arts, music and cinema, targeting researchers interested in the history of these various fields

According to the press release, as well as supporting research, the scholarship monitors schools and artistic trends to contribute to the growth of the creative, cultural and artistic sector in the Kingdom.

The ministry stated that it will provide half of the grant amount after acceptance of an applicants’ first draft, with the remaining amount awarded after the full research is submitted and approved, with a statement of acceptance of publication submitted to the ministry.

In addition to filling research gaps with specialized researchers to provide information on the development of the arts in Saudi Arabia, scholarship falls in line with the goals of the National Strategy for Culture emanating from Saudi Vision 2030.
