In a rare incident, an Egyptian pilgrim died while performing the Hajj, as it turned out that his father and grandfather died in the same way, with time differences, in the Holy Land in Saudi Arabia.

Egyptian media said that Hajj Muhammad Salim Salim Qassem, better known as Muhammad Saad Qassem, from Buhaira Governorate, who is the retired Idku Post Director, traveled to perform Hajj this year, and the family was informed of his death on Saturday, and the people of Idku, his hometown, mourned him.

Dr. Jamal Amin Qasim, the cousin of the deceased, revealed that the death of Muhammad is similar to the death of his father, who also passed away more than 30 years ago during the pilgrimage trip, as well as his grandfather.

Dr. Jamal Qasim, an orthopedic consultant at Idku, mourned the late, saying: “We belong to God and to Him we shall return, and there is no power or strength except with God, the Most High, the Great.” And his fame is Muhammad Saad Salim Qasim, former head of the Rashid and Idku Post Group, as if we are on a date with God in this holy spot, where his father, my uncle Saad Salim Qasim, died there, and his father is my maternal grandfather, the sheikh of the municipality of Idku, Hajj Salim Ghaitani Qasim, during the pilgrimage as well, we ask God for them All mercy and forgiveness.”

And the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced on June 27, 2023, that the total number of pilgrims this year 2023 reached more than 1.8 million pilgrims from more than 150 countries, including more than 184 thousand from home.
