And within the framework of the program of events that will be held on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the theater.
This was announced by the Director General of the Bolshoi Theater, Vladimir Oren, at a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and conduct of the jubilee celebrations.
He said that the jubilee celebrations on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Bolshoi Theater will be held in 2025-2026, adding, “We have received approval from Patriarch Kirill to hold the big theatrical show in one of the Kremlin squares opposite the Uspensky Cathedral.” He explained, saying that the years 2025-2026 will witness 3 big jubilee concerts: one of them is the ballet concert, the second is the opera concert, and the third closing ceremony is the ballet and opera concert, which will be held on March 28, 2026. The director general of the theater said that March 2026 will also witness the establishment of the exhibition “250 Fabulous Theater The Bolshoi” which will shed light on the history of the theater and its relationship to the history of Russia and its most important plays.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova said at the meeting of the Organizing Committee that the program of festive events includes 46 events, the most important of which is the 15th International Competition for Ballet Artists, which will be held in the summer of 2026 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. She recalled that the Bolshoi Theater has a relationship with international opera and ballet stars such as Maya Plisetskaya, Elena Abraztsova, Galina Ulanova, Yuri Grigorovich and others.
