Arab artist raises controversy with his statements about Egypt!

The Saudi artist, Mohamed Abdo, sparked controversy on social media, after comparing Egypt and the Kingdom.

And Muhammad Abdo said, during his revival of a party within the Riyadh Nights sessions, yesterday evening, Sunday: “We, Saudi Arabia today for all Arabs, is the Arab House.” He added, “If Egypt is the mother of the world, Saudi Arabia is its father.”

The statements of the Arab artist sparked mixed reactions, and brought to mind a scene that sparked controversy, during the opening ceremony of the Carthage International Festival in 2016, by the Tunisian artist Lotfi Al-Abdali, who climbed on the stage, directing a speech to the Egyptian artist Adel Imam, in which he said: “You are a leader and a man..if it was Egypt is the mother of the world, and Tunisia is its father.

The reason for calling Egypt the mother of the world

Historians have made it clear that Egypt was named after the son of the Prophet Noah, Misraim bin Ham bin Noah, who went and lived in Egypt after the flood, and the name became shortened with the passage of time to reach what we know today, which is Egypt.

From a historical point of view, Egypt was called Mother of the World because it existed during the occupation of the Roman Empire, and the Egyptian state was the main source and almost the only one that supplied wheat to the Roman Empire, and as the main source of food for them, the Romans called Egypt Mother of the World.
