A dog from Portugal named “Bobby” entered the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living dog.

According to those in charge of the encyclopedia, “Bobby will complete his 31st year in May, and on the first of February this year, Bobby will be 30 years and 266 days old.”

The available information indicates that “the date of birth of the said dog was confirmed using the SIAC government pet database, and that “Bobby” belongs to the Rafeiro do Alentejo breed, in which the average animal is usually between 12 to 14 years old.

For his part, the owner of the aforementioned dog indicated, “The reason for the longevity of his pet is the quiet lifestyle far from the noise of the city, the fact that Bobby lived all his life in a village in the province of Leiria, western Portugal, in addition to maintaining a special diet for him.”
