For his part, Znet researcher, Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, explained that installing a new operating system on the “iPhone” leads to many things running in the background, from “indexing” to “resetting the battery”, and it is possible that This lasts for hours or even days.
He added, explaining that recalibrating the battery not only consumes the phone’s power, but can give the impression that the battery is draining more quickly, when in reality it is not.
Apple has been pursuing accusations of deliberately throttling its iPhone batteries, since it admitted in 2017 that it had released an update to slow down old iPhones with aging batteries, in order to prevent them from suddenly shutting down.
