A very rare type of crab was accidentally rescued in an American restaurant, before it was cooked for a customer.
The orange crab, called “Cheddar”, was rescued by the manager of the Red Lobster restaurant, Mario Rock, in Hollywood, Florida, who had arrived in a consignment at the place, according to the American “CNN” network.
The orange crab is much rarer than its blue counterpart, and while the chance of finding the latter is one in a million, the chance of finding an orange is only one in 30 million.
Once the restaurant manager accidentally realized that the cheddar crab belonged to a rare breed, he immediately contacted staff at the Ripley’s Marine Science Research Center in Myrtle Beach, who moved it there and looked after it, before it was eventually moved to a tourist aquarium.

Director Mario Rock said in a statement: “Ordinary miracles happen sometimes, and what happened with Cheddar crab was one of them and she is one of them. for him”.
For its part, Ripley’s Center for Marine Research expressed gratitude that the restaurant team recognized the importance of such a rare crab, and hoped that the conservation of the crustacean will be popularized worldwide for the coming years.
