The “Hair Challenge” is spread on Tik Tok… and the interpretations are different

The recipe for using rice water for hair extension is no longer confined to a remote area in China, but has become a challenge that has swept the Internet recently.

And the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported, on Sunday, that this recipe was spread in the remote hills of Guangxi Province in the far south of China, and it finally became a “trend” in the application of short videos “Tik Tok”.

And “Rapunzel”, a fictional character known to children in the animated films of the mother of Disney, and was distinguished by her long hair, but this character as such is present in abundance in this region.

The hair length of women here reaches 2.1 meters, and for centuries the women who inhabited this region relied on the recipe of rinsing hair with rice water used for cooking.

Recently, this recipe moved to the Internet, and in the application of “Tik Tok” the participants were divided, between those who considered that it was due to genetic characteristics there, and others confirmed that the recipe was successful and applied to many.
One of the users of the “Tik Tok” application claimed that the recipe was effective, as she stated that her hair grew by two inches after one month of using the recipe.

And the owner of the (moniquemrapier) account on “Tik Tok” posted a video entitled: “The correct way to make rice water useful in hair growth”, and the video had garnered more than 334 thousand views until Sunday.

She said that the recipe is summed up in a cup of rice in a pot, then adding a cup of water to it, to be shaken for a period of time, and then let it ferment for 24 hours.

And the “Daily Mail” says that the rice liquid, which turns brown, contains “vitamin E”, which is believed to help hair growth.

The pioneers of this application and other communication platforms are talking about their own version of the old recipe, which is based on fermenting rice water, where they bring a few spoons of it to the side of tap water, and then mix them with each other in a spray bottle.

And the user, whether a man or a woman, may leave the rice water until it ferments, or use it immediately by pouring it on the hair after bathing.
