4 people were killed when a police helicopter crashed in the US state of New Mexico, as they were returning from helping firefighters in the face of a forest fire.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on its Twitter account that three members of the Police Department’s office and one county fire department employee were on board the helicopter.

Police added that the plane crashed late Saturday near Las Vegas, New Mexico.
“There is no information on the presence of survivors,” she said.
“These individuals were on their way back to Albuquerque after helping the firefighters with the East Mesa fire,” she said.
Police confirmed that the investigation into the accident is still in its initial stages.
