Facebook has announced that it will allow some of its users to have multiple “profiles” as part of a test it is currently doing.
As part of the new test, some Facebook users will currently have the ability to create up to 4 additional “profiles” linked to their original account, for various purposes, including setting up a profile dedicated to “friends”, another to “workmates”, and another for interaction. The user will still have one account, but will be able to switch between the five new profiles with just a few clicks.
Meta spokesperson Leonard Lamm also clarified that the five profiles will be subject to Facebook’s own policies, stressing that any violations committed by one profile will affect the account as a whole.
