A video clip captured a brave mother’s attempt in the US state of New Mexico to prevent her car, which contained her two children, from being stolen.
The American “Fox News” website said that the accident occurred on July 4 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
According to police investigations, a woman stopped her car in front of a store for shopping, and when she was on her way back, an unknown woman pushed her, got into her car, and sped away.
Inside the car were the woman’s 6-year-old daughter, and her 11-month-old infant son.
Traffic camera video shows the mother trying to stop the thief, as she bravely jumped on the street to the hood to narrow the criminal’s field of view, but to no avail.
Later, police officers found the car, while the suspect (Regina Castillo) ran away.
After investigations, the security forces succeeded in arresting Castillo, who was hiding behind a pickup truck in a residential area.
The detainee faces several charges, including car hijacking, concealment of identity, failure to appear, and shoplifting.
