A famous artist announces his renunciation of American citizenship during an artistic ceremony!

Singer and member of the Green Day band, Billy Joe Armstrong, surprised his fans by announcing his intention to give up his American citizenship during a concert he held in Britain recently.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, the singer “announced his intention to give up his American citizenship during a concert held at London Stadium last Friday, and indicated to the concert audience that his decision came after the decision of the Supreme Court in his country regarding abortion affairs.”

The magazine noted that the singer said during the concert, “America go to hell, I’m moving here, it’s not a joke.”

On June 24, the US Supreme Court overturned a nearly 50-year-old decision in the country regarding abortion rights, and thus the standards related to this matter will be amended in each US state separately.
And several US states where there are a majority of Republicans have made previous attempts to tighten the rules related to abortion, but Democrats have consistently opposed this. Singer Billy Joe Armstrong became known for his sympathy with the US Democratic Party by supporting Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential race, where he said, “Democracy is at stake.”
