From time to time we hear news of children swallowing coins that were later extracted, but the story of 14-year-old Omair Qamar is the strangest of all.

Qamar managed to get a fivepence coin out of his nose after it had been stuck there for nearly 10 years.

According to the boy, the coin got stuck in his nose when he was four years old, which he inserted while playing, and it remained stuck in the nasal cavity.
Doctors, according to Qamar’s mother, did not succeed in discovering the presence of a metal object in the nose, despite her multiple visits to medical centers, after the boy complained of difficulty breathing while playing football.
And, according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, Qamar recently felt pain in his nose, which made him close one of his nostrils and blow strongly, only to be surprised by the coin’s exit.

Commenting on this strange incident, Professor Claire Hopkins, Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, said: “Large foreign objects can clog the nose or cause sinus problems, while small foreign objects, such as a coin, may remain in the cavity. the nose for many years before its appearance, often with crusting or one-sided discharge.
