A video circulated by the pioneers of social networking sites in India was widely viewed, as it documented the help of an elephant to his son, “the daffodil”, while crossing a river.
In the video, published by forest officer Susanta Nanda, a herd of elephants appears crossing a river in a reserve, where a small elephant encountered a problem in cutting it.
Mother saved its kid getting washed away & escorts her to safety sweetly below her legs. Herd waits for them to join. Incredible social bonding in animal world.

The mother of the baby elephant intervened at the right moment and caught her baby, which seemed to be drifting in the river by the force of the current.
The mother helped the baby elephant to stay in place, and she pulled him towards the herd that was waiting for them outside the river.
According to the “India Express” newspaper, many who watched the video suggested that bridges be erected in such sites to protect young animals from drowning.
Others said that the video embodies the values of motherhood, and the mother’s willingness to sacrifice herself for the sake of her children.
