“Google” warns that “Apple” and “Android” phones are vulnerable to hacking as a result of Italian spyware

Google warned Thursday that hacking tools of an Italian company were used to spy on Apple and Android smartphones in Italy and Kazakhstan.
And “Google” indicated in a report that the company “RCS Lab”, headquartered in Milan, and its website succeeded in including European law enforcement agencies as clients, has developed tools to spy on private messages and contacts of the targeted devices, according to “Reuters”.
“These vendors enable the spread of dangerous hacking tools and arm governments that would not be able to develop these capabilities internally,” Google said.
And “Google” confirmed in its report that it had taken steps to protect users of its Android operating system, and alerted them about spyware.
In their report, Google researchers found that RCS Lab previously collaborated with the controversial Italian spying company Hacking Team, which similarly created surveillance software for foreign governments, in order to take advantage of phones and computers.
The governments of Italy and Kazakhstan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
An Apple spokesperson said it had revoked all known accounts and certificates associated with Google’s alleged hacking campaign.
For its part, the Italian company “RCS Lab” said that its products and services comply with European rules, and helps law enforcement agencies in investigating crimes.
She stressed, in statements to “Reuters”, that she condemns any misuse of her products.
