From Gaza to Beirut… A mural “With how much we build the sweetest tomorrow, how much we go and win”

Yesterday, the Palestinian artist Bilal Khaled completed the “Caligrafia mural”, which is considered the largest and highest in Lebanon, on Hamra Street, at the invitation of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture.
The mural was painted in white and red colors and includes the phrase “With how much we build a better tomorrow, how much we go and win”, which are words from Julia Boutros’ famous song “My Lovers” and the words of the poet Ghassan Matar.

The artist, Bilal Khaled, thanked the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, “which allowed him to paint a mural, which is considered one of the largest murals in Beirut, specifically on Hamra Street.”

Bilal told “Sputnik”, “This mural bears a message from the words of the poet Ghassan Matar and the song of Julia Boutros, with how much we build a better tomorrow, with how much we go and win, and it carries a message directed from a Palestinian artist visiting Lebanon for the first time to all the peoples and free people of the world that Palestine is the first issue and the axis.” “.

He added: “This is not the first painting I have done outside the Gaza Strip. I painted in Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Belgium, and in many European and Asian countries. My goal is to convey the voice of Palestine as a Palestinian artist outside the walls of the great prison, carrying the message of two million people trapped in the Gaza Strip from Through graffiti art and calligraphy.
The Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Mortada, had received in his office at the Sanayeh Palace, Bilal Khaled and his colleague, the photographer Nidal Al-Wahidi.

Al-Murtada said, “The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with friends, worked silently to host the artists to embody this mural, which was implemented by the artist Bilal Khaled, accompanied by his companion, photographer Nidal Al-Wahidi, who are two Palestinian youths, one of whom came from Gaza, which has an unusual symbolism for me personally.”
He added, “This mural was executed in Hamra Street because of this street’s extraordinary cultural symbolism, and we are insisting that this street restore the role it used to play historically at the level of being concerned with everything related to the general culture in the country and the central issue of the Palestine issue.”

He concluded: “The mural was executed in a way that was more than wonderful, plastic and colors, and it is the highest and largest in the Lebanese Republic, and it included words from the poem of the great poet, Professor Ghassan Matar, sung by the artist Julia Boutros, and the words say: “With how much we build a better tomorrow, with you we go and win.”
