After the uproar sparked by the separation of Colombian singer Shakira from Spanish football star Gerard Pique, it seems that the latter intends to move to Miami, where the mother of his children decided to move there to be with them.
Sports journalist Albert Lesan said in an interview with the Spanish TV program “Salfam” that Gerard Pique would consider moving to Miami if Shakira decided to move to the American city with her children, in a move that might force him to leave Barcelona.
In the same episode, digital marketing expert Jose Noblegas said that Pique “is losing followers in social networks, while his ex-partner continues to gain more followers.”
Noblegas explained in detail: “Only on Instagram, in the last 28 days, Shakira has grown two and a half million followers, while the number of Gerard Pique’s followers has decreased to nearly one million.”
Shakira said in a statement following the separation: “We regret to confirm that we have separated for the sake of our two children, who are our top priority. We ask you to respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Although the singer of Lebanese origin and Pique never married, their relationship lasted 11 years and resulted in two children.
The spark of their first love ignited in the 2010 World Cup, when they met while filming a song for the international sporting event.
A report by the Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” was the first to raise questions about the relationship of the two, explaining that it had become “tepid” recently, as the Barcelona star returned to live alone in his home in the Cali Montaner area, leaving the house that he had collected with his girlfriend for years.
