A video clip showing a groom beating his bride at their wedding angered followers on Twitter, describing it as totally unacceptable violence.

The video showed the newlyweds standing on a platform in front of friends and family during the wedding ceremony, shocking the groom present by hitting his bride hard on the head.

Lawyer and human rights defender Leyla Nazkul Siptek said: “The groom hit the bride directly at the wedding ceremony in front of guests, relatives and families on both sides. No one stopped him, and no one tried to defend her.”
