Excerpts broadcast by the American channel NBC as an advertisement for an episode that will be shown on the screen next Friday, brought Amber Heard to the fore again, in her first television appearance after the court ruling in her case with Johnny Depp.
In the excerpts, Amber Heard denounced the hate and vitriolic criticism she was the target of on social media during her recent trial against Johnny Depp, stressing at the same time that she does not blame the jury for its ruling in favor of her ex-husband.
Heard said she does not take the jury’s verdict personally.
“How would they have come to a decision, and how would they have come to that conclusion? They sat and listened for 3 weeks to relentless testimonies from people who hired Johnny Depp,” she asked.
“I don’t blame them, in fact I understand he’s a likable character that people think they know, he’s a great actor,” Heard added.
When the journalist who interviewed her said that jurors usually don’t take such things into account, Heard replied, “How can they, after hearing for 3 weeks that I am not a reliable person, believe any word that comes out of my mouth?”
A US grand jury has found Amber Heard guilty of defaming her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, by promoting allegations that he assaulted her and subjected her to domestic violence.
This came after a trial that lasted about 6 weeks, which was widely publicized and delved deeply into the privacy of the two Hollywood stars.
