The slogan “McDonald’s alternative” in Russia raises criticism .. What does it look like?

The alternative company to “McDonald’s” in Russia revealed its new logo, before the reopening of the fast food chain, Sunday.

The reopening will be at the same location in Pushkin Square in Moscow, where “McDonald’s” opened a branch for the first time in Russia in 1990.
As a result of Western sanctions imposed on Russia in response to its military operation in Ukraine, the Russian company will operate more than a thousand restaurants that were affiliated with the American chain “McDonald’s”.

The new logo contains an M-shaped burger and fries, although the name of the new brand has not yet been revealed, according to the British newspaper, The Guardian.

According to reports in local media, the “McDonald’s” application in Russia has been renamed “My Burger”, in compliance with the requirement to remove the private American brand.
Critics of the new logo pointed out its similarity to the “Marriott” hotel chain operating in Russia, while others described it on social media as “the Marriott logo crossed with the flag of Bangladesh.”

Commentators on the logo said on social media that “it is difficult to think of food after seeing it”, while others considered it devoid of any creativity or hint of the brand’s type of work.
