News and rumors continue about the separation of Spanish football star Gerard Pique from his girlfriend, Colombian singer Shakira, the latest of which is the willingness of the two parties to meet in order to reach an agreement that would ease the tension between them.
A report by the Spanish newspaper “ABC” quoted sources as saying that Shakira and Pique are keen to spare their children from being harmed in the agreement that includes the terms of the separation.
The report added that the two parties consider the impact of their separation on children a priority, compared to other matters and details.
The report also referred to a close meeting between Pique and Shakira to discuss several details related to the separation, according to the Spanish newspaper, Marca.
The famous singer and the heart of Barcelona’s defense will issue a joint statement, amid fears that the situation will get out of control and end, as happened after Shakira’s separation from her ex-boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, as their relationship ended with a lawsuit and a claim for compensation.
The Colombian singer of Lebanese descent confirmed her separation from the father of her two children, Pique, saying in a statement: “We regret to confirm that we have separated. For the sake of our two children, who are our top priority, we ask you to respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Although Shakira and Pique never married, their relationship lasted 11 years, and resulted in two children, after the spark of their first love ignited in the 2010 World Cup, when they met while filming a song for the global sporting event.
