Welsh star Gareth Bale was criticized for being awarded the Order of the British Empire, on the sidelines of Queen Elizabeth’s celebration of the platinum jubilee of her accession to the throne.

Bale was awarded the Order of the British Empire in honor of his efforts and excellence in the world of football, after winning the Champions League title with Real Madrid last week, to be the first “British” player to win the title for the fifth time.

Bell also supported many charities, and during the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, he donated large sums to hospitals in his country of origin and Spain, and supported other charitable works.

In a post on social media, Bell said: “Being awarded the OBE is a source of pride for me and my family as we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.”
But according to the British newspaper, “Daily Star”, Bale’s comment on awarding him the medal sparked angry reactions from the Welsh side, who responded to him with tweets and publications criticizing the player who recently decided to leave Real Madrid.

In one post, one said: “You’re not a Wales legend anymore,” while another commented: “What you’re saying is ridiculous and I consider it a joke.”

Another posted a comment: “Very disappointed with what you’ve done, Bill. It makes me feel as if I found out about my wife cheating on me with another man.”

One criticized the Welsh star, saying: “While we are preparing for an important match to secure qualification for the World Cup, you come out with such a comment! You blew our nation with your words.”

Wales plays a fateful match against Ukraine on Sunday, where the winner qualifies directly to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and Bale hinted that he might retire from football if his country failed to reach the World Cup.
