Peter Andre ‘considering legal action’ over Rebekah Vardy’s ‘chipolata’ claim

Peter Andre is reportedly considering taking legal action to prevent Rebekah Vardy from making further claims after “chipolata-gate” resurfaced in her libel trial.

Earlier this month, Rebekah, 40, was in High Court to face Coleen Rooney, 36, after her Instagram account was accused of leaking fake stories to the press about her – which she denies.

Rebekah spilled on her one night stand with the Mysterious Girl singer, 49, in an interview with the News of the World in 2004. The alleged fling is said to have happened two years before the interview.

The star claimed Peter’s manhood was “like a miniature chipolata” in the scathing interview, which Rebekah said she “deeply regretted” saying in her trial earlier this month.

But the repeated claims appear to have left a sour taste in Peter’s mouth as he’s now said to be talking to his lawyers in a bid to prevent any further claims to come up about it all in the future.

A source said that Peter has no recollection of spending a night with Rebekah at a Buckinghamshire Hotel in the early 2000s.

“Pete doesn’t remember meeting her, never mind anything else,” an insider told the publication, adding: “At the time of the article he was younger, he didn’t have children and it didn’t matter so much. He was ribbed by his friends, but they knew the chipolata slur was the opposite to the truth.”

The source went on to share that Peter is now a father as he shares Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, with ex Katie, as well as Amelia, six, and Theodore, five, with wife Emily.

“But now he is a dad and has a wife and he just doesn’t think it’s true. He is considering legal action against Rebekah,” they continued. “He has consulted lawyers and is yet to decide whether he will go through with it, but he is very upset.”

Peter cannot sue News UK, which owned the publication Rebekah initially made the claim to in 2004, News Of The World, as libel victims have only 12 months from the date of publication to start proceedings.

Since the comments resurfaced, Peter has opened up on his “debilitating” mental health struggles in an exclusive interview with new magazine.

Sharing ways he finds to cope with his anxieties, he explained how he turns to exercise. He said: “It doesn’t have to be a full gym workout – just go for a walk, get your steps in and clear your mind.

“I find that moving my body is fantastic for keeping my brain away from things that get me down.

“In the past, I’ve also turned to therapy and medication to cope with mental struggles. Medication allowed me to get into the right frame of mind to talk openly about my problems in therapy. Not everyone agrees with medication or therapy, but I found both helped me immensely.”

Peter, who recently grilled a sausage in a cheeky new advert after “chipolata-gate” resurfaced, added: “My point is, there are many different ways of combating mental health problems. What works for me might not work for someone else. The first step is reaching out.”
