A California man entered the Guinness Book of Records after eating three very hot peppers in a short time.
Grevory Foster managed to devour three Carolina Reaper hot peppers in 8.72 seconds, to enter the Guinness World Records record.
During the event, which was held in downtown San Diego, Foster managed to surpass the previous record, which was set by Canadian Mike Jack, which was 9.72 seconds.
Commenting on his achievement, Foster said: “In rehearsal for an attempt like this, it’s all about the mechanics and memory of the muscles of the mouth, so I take a little sweet pepper to make chewing and swallowing respond to automatic responses when I switch to hot peppers,” according to the UPI news agency.
It is worth noting that the Carolina Reaper is the hottest pepper in the world, with a temperature of 1.641,183 on the Scoville scale.
