The well-known French adventurer, Frank Zapata, escaped death when his hoverboard crashed in the air, falling from a height of more than 15 meters into the waters of a lake.

According to the British newspaper, “The Sun”, the 43-year-old Zapata was surprised that the flying board got out of control, while he was flying in the Bessacros region in southwest France.

Paramedics managed to get Zapata out of the lake, and then he was urgently transferred to the hospital’s emergency department for treatment.

Zapata, who is described as the “Flying Man”, achieved widespread fame in 2019, when he managed to cross the English Channel by means of a hoverboard, only stopping once on that trip to refuel.

A video clip showed the people present at the scene, in a state of utter shock, while screaming for Zapata’s rescue.

And the local newspaper, “Sid Ouest” in France, wrote that Zapata is recovering in hospital, after being injured in the accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon.

The newspaper reported that Zapata, the inventor of the hoverboard, was rescued by boat and a jet-ski.
