Today, the Russian state newspaper Turkmenistan reported that a statue of the horse Akhan Teke (White Khan) will be erected in the Akhal region (the central region of Turkmenistan).
The newspaper reported that the President of the Republic, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, signed a special decree.
“With the aim of enhancing the glory of the Akhal-Teke horse breed of Turkmenistan, which is one of the national pride of our people – the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree allowing the Akhal State Administration to conclude a contract with the private Zvezda Sport Foundation for the design and construction of a monument with a statue of the famous horse Akhan-Teke,” the statement read. According to the document, the work should be completed in December 2022.
This breed of horse is known for its speed, stamina, intelligence, and outstanding luster. Their shiny fur earned them the nickname “Golden Horses”. These horses are adapted to difficult climatic conditions and are believed to be one of the oldest existing horse breeds.
