Kuwait condemned the killing of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, who was killed today while covering the Israeli forces’ storming of Jenin refugee camp.
This came in a statement published by the official page of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter, in which it said that it expresses its “strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation forces’ assassination of Palestinian media workers near Jenin refugee camp, in addition to the injury of another journalist.”
The statement said: “The occupation forces bear responsibility for this heinous crime, which represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and a blatant attack on freedom of expression.”
The statement considered that “this crime represents good evidence confirming the ugliness of the attacks carried out by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people.”
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry’s statement called on the international community to “open an investigation and hold the perpetrators of this heinous crime accountable and prosecute them before international justice.”
The statement stressed, “the importance of taking measures to stop the attacks on Palestinians by the occupation authorities and to protect their rights and property.”
And the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced, earlier today, the killing of journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, by Israeli army bullets, while storming the Jenin refugee camp.
The Palestinian presidency said that Israel bears full responsibility for this heinous crime, which is part of an Israeli daily policy against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites.
Naftali Bennett said that the Israeli Prime Minister was rejecting an offer to conduct a joint investigation into her murder.
