A six-year-old boy has found the tooth of a giant prehistoric megalodon shark that could be up to 20 million years old.
The tooth is 10 centimeters long, and was found by the child, Sammy Shelton, on Baudsey Beach in Britain, according to the British newspaper, “Mirror”.
The newspaper reported that Sammy Shelton was not expecting to find the four-inch tooth, which is about 3 million years old.
After examining the tooth by experts, it was confirmed that it belonged to Megalodon, the largest shark ever.
Sami’s father stated that his son put the tooth next to him during sleep because “he was very attached to it.”
The British newspaper pointed out that the tooth once belonged to a huge shark called “Megalodon” and its fins alone were believed to be the size of an adult human, and could reach 67 feet in length.
Its name means “big tooth,” and it has 250 thick teeth designed to grab prey and break its bones, including whales.
