Mohammed bin Rashid launches the “Billion Meals” campaign

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced the launch of the “Billion Meals” campaign, which is the largest for feeding and fighting hunger in 50 countries around the world.

And Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum posted a tweet on his Twitter account, in which he said: “With God’s blessing, we are launching the Billion Meals campaign today. The largest campaign to feed food and fight hunger in fifty countries around the world. Ramadan is the month of fasting in which we feel the suffering of 800 million people.” People go to bed hungry every day.”

He added, “There is a real humanitarian crisis due to hunger and food security.. And the campaign of one billion meals is its motto. Those who are full and their neighbor are hungry, do not believe in me. We have one billion noble humanitarian messages from the Emirates to the world.”

This campaign is “the largest in the region to provide food support for up to one billion meals to the poor and hungry in 50 countries, starting from the first month of Ramadan,” and aims to build on “the qualitative results achieved by the previous Ramadan campaign, which distributed 220 million meals, as the number will be completed up to to a billion meals.

The One Billion Meals campaign contributes to “fighting hunger and malnutrition in the world, especially among vulnerable groups of women, children, refugees, displaced people, and victims of disasters and crises,” according to the Emirates News Agency, WAM.

And last March, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, “The best charity is feeding food, and the best peoples who think of others, and our country is preserved by the good we do.”

And about the message of the “One Billion Meals” initiative, he said: “Our goal is one billion meals. And to deliver one billion humanitarian messages from the UAE to the world.”

On the expansion of the initiative, ways to confront hunger throughout the year, he explained: “The world is going through challenges in providing food security for humans, and our mission is to support our brothers in humanity to save them from hunger.”
