Western film studios Universal Picture, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Disney and others have announced the cancellation of their films in Russia due to recent developments in Ukraine.

Film analysts fear that this will lead to the closure of most cinemas in Russia, where Hollywood films made up the lion’s share of film production.

The Russian Ministry of Culture issued directives regarding financial support for Russian cinema and encouraging Russian directors to produce films of national origin and content.

In light of the changes taking place in the field of Russian cinema, the Karo network decided to show films in the city of Novosibirsk in western Siberia to move from showing new Western films to old Russian and foreign films that form an optimistic mood and work to spread love and constructive cooperation rather than violence and hatred, as is the case in most films Hollywood.

The “Caro” network decided to implement the “Cinema Therapy” program and show films where characters (directors and actors) known for their contribution to directing good films such as the ominous American (Jarmusch) and the satiric (Baumbach), the charming Japanese (Miyadzaki), the soft Russian (Zolotukhin), The Dane (Lance von Trier) the Brave and others.
