$2.4 million .. the price of a copy of a picture book

An auction house announced that a special edition of the Marvel comic book series fetched more than $2.4 million in an online auction.

“It’s arguably one of the three best comic books in the world of comics,” said Vincent Zorzulu, chief operating officer of Comic Connect.

The buyer’s name has not been revealed, and Zorzulu only said he is “very passionate about collecting picture books”, among other items.

The first issue of the comic series was published in 1939, and the series evolved into films, television programs, and video games.

The sold copy bears the publisher’s handwritten notes and records the amount paid to each writer and artist who participated in it.

“It’s a very important behind-the-scenes look at creating a book, comic and character company,” Zorzulu said.
