In this regard, the Foreign Ministry statement said: “In response to the unprecedented series of sanctions, which, among other things, contain the ban of a number of Russian officials from traveling to the United States starting from March 15, the Russian “ban” list includes, US President Joe Biden, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, acted on the principle of reciprocity.”
The statement added: “This step, which was taken as a counter-reaction, came as an inevitable result of the path of extreme anti-Russianism pursued by the current US administration, which, in a desperate attempt to maintain American hegemony, bet on containing Russia through confrontation.”
The list included US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, in addition to a number of heads of departments and well-known American personalities.
It included sanctions imposed by Russia on the United States, which include a ban on 13 people from entering Russia.
