Germany confirms a record amount of defense spending in 2022

Germany has decided to increase its defense spending to a record level in 2022 against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, according to a draft budget unveiled Monday.
And according to what “AFP” quoted a government source, “the draft budget, which Parliament will discuss in the next few days, allocates more than 50 billion euros (about 55 billion dollars) for military spending this year, according to a government source, describing the figure as “A record high”, as “Berlin seeks to exceed the spending target set by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the coming years.”

And “AFP” indicated that “the German government is planning a “special fund” worth 100 billion euros to modernize Germany’s armed forces starting in 2022.
