Dr. Tatiana Rogintsova, Deputy Director of Clinical Work at the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, announced that with the spread of the “Omicron” mutant, the symptoms of “Covid-19” gastro-intestinal increased.

In an interview with the newspaper “Izvestia”, the doctor says, “We noticed when the Wuhan version of the emerging coronavirus spread, that many cases were accompanied by diarrhea. Now, about 30 percent of the infected people complain of severe diarrhea, especially children, including those who complain of nausea and loss of appetite.” “.

According to her, the disease in young children is often accompanied by vomiting, especially on the first day of their illness.

And she adds, even doctors are talking about the intestinal form of “Covid-19”, which is caused by the “Omicron” mutant of the emerging coronavirus, which is not accompanied by respiratory symptoms. This condition usually appears in children under the age of three.

“But the intestinal form is very rare,” she says. “Because the majority of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, they have respiratory symptoms, redness, sore throat, nasal congestion and coughing.”

And she adds, as in the case of influenza, patients suffer from headaches, chills and weakness. Therefore, accurate diagnosis of the patient’s condition is possible only with special tests.
