“Samsung” issues a statement regarding the cyber attack that it was exposed to… “Galaxy phones were affected by it”
Today, Monday, the South Korean electronics company “Samsung” issued an official statement regarding the latest cyber attack launched by a group of hackers on its system.
In the statement published on its internal forum, Samsung confirmed that the cyber attack did not cause significant harm to its business and customers, according to the Korean “Yonhap” agency.
It also denied stealing any personal information of its customers and employees, and there will be no impact on its business operations.
“There was no personal data breach, although the leaked information includes some of the Source Code needed to operate the Galaxy phones,” Samsung said in its statement, without elaborating.
In the statement, Samsung stressed that it strengthened its security system to protect information as soon as it became aware of the attempted hacking attack.
“We are looking for every avenue to stop the additional data breach and protect employees and customers – we sincerely apologize for causing concerns,” she said.
Last Saturday, a South American hacker group, Labsus, claimed to have successfully hacked the system of the “South Korean tech giant” and obtained confidential data, including several source code related to authentication features, among other things.
Labsus also claimed to have leaked up to 190 gigabytes of stolen data online, which is available for download via torrent software.
