Sony and Honda team up to make electric cars

Sony and Honda announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly design and market electric vehicles.
The deal is not final, but its goal is to create a joint venture this year, and start selling cars by 2025, according to Engadget.

Under the agreement, Honda will design, manufacture and market the “first model”, while “Sony” will create a mobility service platform, in order to integrate Honda auto parts and sales with Sony’s expertise in entertainment, information, and mobile phone sensors. and picture.

Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe said, “Although Sony and Honda are two companies that share many historical and cultural similarities, our areas of technology expertise are very different, so I believe that this alliance brings together strengths in Our two companies together offer great potential for the future of mobility.”
For Honda, the joint venture with Sony may help achieve its goal of converting its entire lineup to electric vehicles by 2040, especially as it is currently the least electric vehicle group in the world.
It is noteworthy that Sony has not unveiled two electric cars, the Vision-S EV and the Vision-S 02 electric SUV.
Through its “Vision-S” car, Sony showcases all its strengths, including 33 different sensors for “360Reality Audio” technology, wide screen displays, and self-driving.
