Director of the Moscow Circus: Western sanctions against Russian cats are laughable

44
On Thursday, March 3, director of the Moscow Circus and People’s Artist of Russia, Edgard Zapashny, announced that the ban imposed by the International Cat Federation on the participation of Russian cats in international exhibitions is nothing but ridiculous.

He said: “This is a temporary phenomenon that does not oblige anyone to take any steps, and it only causes smiles on everyone. I am convinced that our cats will remain sick and in good shape even though they will not visit international matches for some time, which once again confirms that they are able to competition and exercise.

As for the director of the Moscow Cat Theater, Yuri Koklachev, he said in an interview with the Russian “TASS” agency that the ban will not negatively affect this type of business in Russia. “Maybe Russian cats annoy businessmen who lose money because Russian cats are the best and most beautiful cats in the world,” he added with some irony.

It is noteworthy that the International Cat Federation imposed a ban from March 1 on the participation of cats whose owners live in Russia from participating in international matches. The statement published by the federation banned the inclusion of Russian cats on the affiliation lists of the International Federation of Cats. The restrictions will remain in effect until May 31, 2022 and will be revised if necessary.
