Russian opera star Anna Netrebko will not participate in the opera “Adriana Lecover”, which is scheduled to be shown this March at the “La Scala” theater in Milan.
This was reported Tuesday, March 1, a spokesman for the theater.
The singer announced her decision to temporarily suspend her musical activity and canceled all her projects, so she will not participate in the opera, which is scheduled to be shown on March 9.
Commenting on her decision, she added, “Now is not the time to practice music and perform.”
While theater reports on 9, 12, 16 and 19 March still include the performance of Anna Netrebko’s husband, opera singer, Yusuf Aivazov, who always accompanies his wife on foreign tours.
It is noteworthy that the opera star had announced earlier in her accounts on social networks that she wanted a quick peace in Ukraine, while not considering it possible to force artists to express their political views.
