The Palestinian dress tops social networking sites under #historical_thobe

A large number of Arabs interacted on social media with the “My Historical Dress” campaign, which was launched by Palestinian TV about 10 days ago, in response to Israel’s attempts to steal the history of this dress.
Palestinian and Arab women appeared in the campaign, wearing Palestinian dresses, with their various distinct and ancient artistic embroideries, which tell a history dating back thousands of years, according to historians.

“Felstinian” TV, which seeks to introduce Palestinian history and heritage, launched the “My Historical Dress” campaign in response to Israel’s attempts to attribute the ancient dress to it, after participants appeared in the beauty pageant that was held in Israel, last December, wearing the Palestinian dress while preparing Palestinian dishes. traditional, while claiming that this costume is part of the Israeli heritage.

Women shared their photos from various Palestinian regions and the world under several hashtags: #MyThobe_Historic, #Your_Down_Steal_Not In The Closet, and #Our Heritage Is Not For Theft.

 

Palestinian TV allocated a daily space during the ten days of the campaign, to publish pictures of the participants in the campaign and to introduce the history of the Palestinian dress and its different types and embroideries that are related to the social situation of women and the different regions of Palestine.

The media, Ola Al-Faris, published a photo and video of her from New York wearing the Palestinian dress on her personal page on “Instagram” and wrote: “The grandparents left us a popular heritage that we are proud of everywhere and at all times… Let’s preserve it for the homeland and future generations… Share with us the campaign # Our Heritage is not for theft and knows The world through the communication sites on the beauty and splendor of the owners of this dress.”

Arab influencers interacted with the campaign in different ways and chose to share these photos with social media pioneers.
It is noteworthy that last December, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) included the art of Palestinian embroidery on its lists of world cultural heritage.
