The “Formula 1” race that was scheduled to be held in the Russian city of Sochi has been canceled

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) decided on Friday to cancel this year’s Russian Grand Prix due to the events in Ukraine.
According to the federation’s statement, the Russian race, which joined the championship program in 2014, was scheduled to take place at the Sochi circuit overlooking the Black Sea on September 25.
The statement added that “the organizers of the championship confirmed the impossibility of holding the race under the current conditions.”
The union also stressed that it “follows the events in Ukraine with sadness and shock and looks forward to a quick and peaceful solution to the current situation.”
Earlier today, the European Football Association “UEFA” announced in a statement the transfer of the Champions League final to Paris instead of Saint Petersburg, Russia, which was scheduled to take place on May 28.
