Russian conductor Gergiev will not lead the orchestra for three performances in New York

The “Carnegie Hall” in the US state of New York, announced that the famous Russian conductor, Valery Gergiev, will not conduct the “Vienna Philharmonic” for three performances this week.

“The Carnegie Concert Hall and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra announce that Yannick Nesit-Seguin will replace Valerie Gergiev as conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for three performances at Carnegie Hall from Friday 25 February to Sunday 27 February,” the hall said in a statement on its website.

Party organizers did not explain why Gergive was replaced by Seguin.

On Thursday, Milan’s La Scala theater demanded Gergiev to call for a peaceful solution to the situation in Ukraine, or else he could be suspended from the “Queen of Spades” opera, which will be shown from March 5-13.

In a speech to the Russian people at dawn on Thursday, President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to protect Donbass in southeastern Ukraine.
